After a whirlwind of sightseeing, fascinating conversations and moments of spirituality
and blessing, the participants in Temple Am Echad’s pilgrimage to Israel are safely home. Although we’ve already shared our trip by posting photographs, conversations about how to better share our experiences with our Temple family are already taking place. Hopefully, trip participant postings to our website blog and Facebook page will follow shortly.
With Israel in the news as the US moves its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and continuing protests in Gaza, we still offer thanks for the land God gave our ancestors and we pray for Israel’s peace and prosperity, security and well-being.
Our group of travelers returns to Temple life more inspired and with greater understanding of our Jewish selves and our connection to Israel. An opportunity to celebrate the Jewish value of teaching our children and the centrality of Torah in our lives comes this weekend at our Erev Shavuot service this Saturday evening, when our Religious School Year-End closing ceremony takes place. Please join us in support of our youth and in marking this religious school year milestone.
Another opportunity to come together is on Sunday morning as we offer the morning festival service with Yizkor in memory of loved ones who have passed, with special mention of those who have passed in the period from last Shavuot to this one.
However we choose to express our connection to Jewish living, may we all find renewed energy and inspiration in sharing our lives.
