From the Rabbi: 9/2/2010
Our Parasha this Shabbat is Nitzavim, Deuteronomy 29:9-30:20.
1. Torah readers for Rosh HaShana may practice from the scroll this evening
at 7:00pm.
2. Shofar blowers will practice this evening at 7:30pm. Meet in the sanctuary
and then we will move to a quiet corner of the building.
3. Barring serious complications from Hurricane Earl, Shabbat services begin
at 7:15pm with a children’s service. We resume our regular Shabbat
worship schedule this week.
4. Saturday morning Torah study begins at 10:00am, probably in Room 5, due
to the construction in the garden. Yes, I kept the class at 10:00am this
week.
5. Selichot Services are this Saturday evening, September 4, beginning at
9:00pm. This year we are hosting Central Synagogue of Rockville Centre. Our
theme this year is "Who shall live and who shall die: a disturbing prayer."
6. If you are not receiving Temple Show rehearsal reminders by email, contact
Vivian Blumstein.
7. Next Wednesday is Erev Rosh HaShanah. Tickets, including a map of permitted
parking lots, are in the mail.

9. URJ will host an “Introduction to Judaism” course in Nassau
County finally. The course will be held at Temple Tikvah in New Hyde Park
at 3315 Hillside Avenue.
The classes are held weekly on Thursdays from 7:00-9:15 pm. The next class
