Rabbi
Glenn Jacob has dedicated his rabbinate to the pursuit of teaching and celebrating
Jewish life in the synagogue. He teaches a number of classes each
semester for adult education that reach out to retirees during the day, parents
during religious school and the general congregation in the evenings. In the
religious school, Rabbi Jacob directs the Master Hebrew program in the primary
grades and teaches the Confirmation classes. Friday mornings he works with
the Am Echad Early Childhood Center. Along with the prayer tutor and Torah
tutor, Rabbi Jacob works with all the students to prepare them for their
Bar/Bat
Mitzvah.
Rabbi Jacob received a degree in Philosophy from Washington University in St.
Louis in 1984 and was ordained from Hebrew Union College at the Cincinnati
campus in 1989. He received a fellowship from the Auerbach Central Agency for
Jewish Education in Philadelphia and earned a certification in Family Education.
Rabbi Jacob has presented at national conventions of CAJE, the Coalition for
the Advancement of Jewish Education and founded mini-CAJE Deep South. In the
Philadelphia area, he founded the Bucks County Principal's Council and was
rabbinic co-chair of the Kehillah Council of Bucks County, which was responsible
for all of the community programming for the combined synagogues of the county.
Presently, Rabbi Jacob is one of the founders of the South Shore Kallah for
adult learning and the first host of the Havdalah Night of Learning for the
area congregations.
