Our Rabbi

Photo Rabbi Glenn JacobRabbi Glenn Jacob has dedicated his rabbinate to the pursuit of teaching and celebrating Jewish life in the synagogue. He teaches a number of classes each semester for adult education that reach out to retirees during the day, parents during religious school and the general congregation in the evenings. In the religious school, Rabbi Jacob directs the Master Hebrew program in the primary grades and teaches the Confirmation classes. Friday mornings he works with the Am Echad Early Childhood Center. Along with the prayer tutor and Torah tutor, Rabbi Jacob works with all the students to prepare them for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

Rabbi Jacob received a degree in Philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis in 1984 and was ordained from Hebrew Union College at the Cincinnati campus in 1989. He received a fellowship from the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education in Philadelphia and earned a certification in Family Education.

Rabbi Jacob has presented at national conventions of CAJE, the Coalition for the Advancement of Jewish Education and founded mini-CAJE Deep South. In the Philadelphia area, he founded the Bucks County Principal's Council and was rabbinic co-chair of the Kehillah Council of Bucks County, which was responsible for all of the community programming for the combined synagogues of the county.

Presently, Rabbi Jacob is one of the founders of the South Shore Kallah for adult learning and the first host of the Havdalah Night of Learning for the area congregations.
