Temple Tots
Temple Tots
Temple Tots at Temple Am Echad offers fun and meaningful programming and the chance to build community for families raising young children (birth through age six). By providing engaging, enriching, and joyful early experiences, we aim to create a foundation for a lifetime of connection to Judaism.
Families connect monthly at Tot Shabbat. This age-appropriate service gives children a warm and welcoming introduction to Jewish music, prayers, Shabbat, holidays, rituals, and more. It’s also a time to move and dance, cuddle with parents, and hear a story. After the service, the fun continues with a craft or other hands-on activity, socializing, food, and play.
Families are also invited to participate in special events throughout the year. Past events have included a summer picnic at Bay Park, a Shavuot hike, a field trip to Crossroads Farm, and a concert with singer-songwriter Eliana Light. Programs highlight Jewish values including tikkun olam (repairing the world).
Join Temple Tots to learn, play, "do Jewish," enjoy the camaraderie of other parents, and relax! We welcome diverse and interfaith families, and we welcome both members and nonmembers to participate in our activities. Most programs are free or low-cost. Temple members interested in shaping the direction of Temple Tots are invited to join our committee.
Temple Am Echad is proud to partner with PJ Library in New York to help expand and deepen engagement opportunities for families raising Jewish children in the New York metropolitan area. Families interested in receiving free Jewish books and resources every month are encouraged to enroll at pjlibrary.org/newyork.
